Hastings Urban Farm Tour & Potluck
Thanks to everyone who came out to tour Hastings Urban Farm in June in collaboration with Young Agrarians! The goal of the tours and potlucks is to bring folks involved and interested in urban farming together to meet each other and get an inside peek at urban farms in the city. Hastings Urban Farm is a farm site in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside that is supported by the Portland Hotel Society. They grow a mix of annual veggies, compost on site and are home to bees tended by Hives for Humanity. They’ve also got a soccer pitch and plans to grow the site into a community gathering space.
Stay tuned for our next tour + potluck!

A lot of people ask “What’s going on at that site on Hastings?”. Our friends at Hastings Urban Farm took some time out of their busy, busy farm lives to tell a camera, and in turn, us, about how that lot was transformed in what seemed like a blink of an eye into an exciting new(ish) urban farm on the Vancouver scene.
